Few expensive units or lots of cheap ones? Mhhh cheap in rules, but not in hobby time. You still have to paint them, maybe convert them and then actually move them on the table. Pushing a single tank is a lot faster than shuffling around 50 conscripts. As you’ve probably guessed from the Monocarnifex, when I play, I’m all about heavy units. And if you too have Knight Commander Pask in your Astrawet Militarumdreams, this rolling arsenal of cannons – Conqueror, Vanquisher, Demolisher and more – is just what you need for only 1500 points!

Straight out of Chapter Approved 2002, alongside the Death Company and the early versions of Necrons and Sisters of Battle, here’s my take on the Armored Company: Ferrea Mole, Ferreo Cuore.

What does it mean in Low Gothic? It’s the motto of Italian tank troops, roughly translated as: Iron Hull, Iron Heart. Perturabo, take notes from the Poets of the Boot. Maybe not always remembered for technical brilliance, but absolutely unmatched when it comes to style. A phrase that captures the bond between crew and machine – Omnissiah are you?!?! – the bulk of the tank mirrors the stubborn resolve of those within. Because let’s be honest…sealing yourself inside a metal box that instantly becomes the priority target on the battlefield is not exactly a relaxing experience.

But heeey, on a battlefield in the 41st millennium, the solution is simple: just bring more priority targets. Classic Imperial Guard strategy, I’d say. This Armored Company, however, has its own not-so-classic tactics as well: full throttle, all-terrain tracks and straight through Heretics and Xenos alike. For an easy reference, just remember this meme: “Drive me closer, I want to hit them with my sword.”
