There are two kinds of Ork players: those who follow the way of the Choppa and those who follow the way of Dakka. This list clearly belongs to the second category…brutal kunnin’, kunnin’ brutal, but above all, shooty!
The math is very simple: a green tide of shootas equals a green tide of dice. The statistical storm of bullets with BS 2 will hit something if you believe hard enough. Datz proppa orky, boyz! So here we have a 1500-point army list with maybe 1500 dice in the shooting phase. Not quite enough dakka, but we’re getting there.
No Kommandos. No Stormboyz. I really wanted Meganobz or Lootas with ’Oomie Big Shootas (Heavy Bolters), but too many teef. Alright, alright…there are a few Burnas. In my defense, there is all a Gork-or-Mork plan going on in my tiny Gretchin brain.
Killa Kans and Ork Dreadnought (fully loaded with Twin-linked Big Shootas) advancing like a walking wall in front of the Shoota Boyz. Right behind them, the Burna Boyz. Why? Mhhh fire is the first answer. Giving up mushroom-fueled flamethrowers was never an option. Plus, the Mekboyz (and the Big Mek following the Ork Dreadnought) bring Kustom Force Fields as the wall advances. Hull down on the walkers, cover saves all around…a shrouding bubble as the infantry push forward. It starts to look suspiciously like a Gungan Shield Generator from Star Wars. Funny how Xenos across the universe always speak in such strange ways.
I’ve run this list and it’s insanely fun with over 20 Big Shootas, Flash Gitz with Kustom Jobs and rusted refrigerators leading the charge. If your opponent has something to say, you can always shut them up with DAKKA DAKKA DAKKA.
